Jack back for Moody

Doubtful Jack made a triumphant return to racing on Thursday night when he scored a dashing win in the LR The Tote Stakes (1200m) at Launceston.

The Peter Moody trained gelding was sent out a hot $1.40 favourite and he lived up the quote with a comprehensive victory.

Doubtful Jack (3g Not a Single Doubt – Toosie Roll by Marscay) raced on the speed throughout and drew off in the straight to score by a three quarter length margin over Too Many Reds and veteran Conquering.

Doubtful Jack won the G3 Bobbie Lewis Quality at Flemington in September but hadn’t raced since finishing out of a place behind Captain Sonador in the G1 Epsom Handicap in October.

Moody purchased Doubtful Jack for $100,000 on behalf of stable client Allan Meads at the 2008 Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sale.  He has returned over $544,000 from a 50% winning strike rate in 16 starts.

Doubtful Jack is a son of successful Arrowfield Stud sire Not a Single Doubt and is a half brother to two winners including the dam of Gold Coast flyer Fab Fevola.

Not A Single Doubt stands alongside his own sire Redoute’s Choice at Arrowfield for a $13,750 service fee.
