Kaned an Able winner

Able Kane sired his first winner when Kaned scored on debut in the Mulhallen’s Retravision Maiden (1000m) at Nhill on Boxing Day.

Kaned (3f  Able Kane – Spoilt Princess by Principality) was ridden to a 1.75 length victory by Christine Puls for Stawell trainer David Noonan.  The filly is raced by Adam Atchison who bred her from a winning sister to Leroy The Boy (MVRC Marlborough Country Cup).

Able Kane (Rory’s Jester) was bred in partnership by Les Gordon and Peter Devitt whose links with Lindsay Park go back to G1 winners like King’s High (Victoria Derby) and, more recently, with Niconero and Nicconi.

Able Kane is by Lindsay Park stalwart Rory’s Jester and is a half-brother to Group 1 Toorak Hcp winner Red Dazzler.  The latter is a son of Red Ransom who will have his first yearlings on offer from home base Eureka Stud at the 2010 majors.

Able Kane wasn’t up to G1 company but he did win three races and earned black-type when runner-up to Happy Giggle in the VATC Merson Cooper Stakes (LR) at Sandown in November 1999.

Lindsay Park culled Able Kane at the Inglis 2000 December Sale at Oaklands Junction for $15,000.  Western Districts trainer Mark Jackson was the buyer and he prepped the colt for further wins at Ballarat and Camperdown.

Able Kane stood alongside Lacryma Cristi (Ire) at Carinya Stables in the Wimmera for three seasons until 2007.  Kaned is one of 10 live foals from his first crop.
