Mick Price would have been impressed with the debut effort of Krysia at Sale earlier this month and she can break through second-up in the Carlton Draught Plate (Race 1 at 12.55pm AEDT) at Mornington on Sunday.
Krysia (3f Elvstroem-Leica Or Not by Kendor) jumped awkwardly at Sale but was soon up disputing the lead under Craig Newitt. She boxed on bravely in the straight to be beaten a couple of lengths in the race won by Girls Choice. She went into that race without the benefit of a barrier trial.
Krysia is from the first crop of Blue Gum Farm sire Elvstroem and, besides Light Fantastic, is also a half sister to G1 New Zealand Derby winner Lecia Guv (Deputy Governor) and G3 SAJC Jansz Stakes winner Lectrice (Encosta de Lago).
