Kent clicks for Three Bridges and Godolphin

The team at Three Bridges Thoroughbreds cheered home Kent when the promising youngster opened his account at Canterbury on Monday.

Kent (2g Domesday – Malbun by Commands) sports Godolphin’s blue silks and had been runner-up in his first two starts at Newcastle.  “His last run was good – I beat him on the stablemate Pecans and I’ve got a lot of time for that filly,” jockey Brenton Avdulla said.  “He’s still got a bit to learn but he’s a quality colt and he’s with the right team.”

Three Bridges bought his dam Malbun – with a positive to Choisir – for $40,000 at the 2015 Inglis Easter Bloodstock Sale.  They also snapped up her Bernardini foal for $44,000.

The Bernardini colt was pin-hooked for $75,000 at this year’s Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale and her Choisir filly made $80,000 at last month’s Magic Millions National Foal Sale.

Malbun won at Canterbury and is from a sister to G1 Golden Slipper winner Guineas.  She’s in foal to Three Bridges sire Unencumbered on an early September cover last year.

Three Bridges has 17 foals catalogued for the Inglis Great Southern Sale starting this Sunday, June 19.  Among them are 6 colts and fillies by Unencumbered and a pair of weanlings by in-form sire Written Tycoon.
