Kiwi couple relocate to Think Big Stud

New Zealand couple Greg and Jo Griffin will relocate to Think Big Stud in NSW in the New Year.

The Griffins established Lime Country Thoroughbreds in 2007 and it has quickly grown to become one of New Zealand’s leading consignors.  The Kiwi couple will continue to offer their current services – sales prep, breaking-in, pre-training and recuperation – at the new location.

Think Big Stud is owned by Malaysian businessman Dato Tan Chin Nam who raced stars the calibre of Allez Wonder, So You Think and Viewed with the late Bart Cummings.

Lime Country will offer the first draft from its new premises at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.  The consignment includes a Redoute’s Choice colt out of Dato Tan’s Group 1 winning Shamardal Faint Perfume.

“We are honoured Dato Tan and his family have entrusted us with their stud and horses that will remain at the farm,” Greg Griffin said.  “We have spent the last ten years building our business in New Zealand and this is the next natural step forward for us.

“We already have some fantastic Australian clients who we will enjoy being closer to, and we are keen to provide our clients in New Zealand and Asia, and new clients from America and Europe, our services for their Australian interests, too.

“Australia gives us access to the world and we have been fortunate to find a wonderful river-frontage farm with a proven track record that has helped create a part of Dato Tan’s legacy.”
