Lacey steps down as TBWA President

Fiona Lacey has announced she will step down as TBWA President and committee member at the TBWA Annual General Meeting on Thursday evening, 5 September.

“I’ve been on the committee for seven years and have served as President since April 2020,” Lacey said.  “They were tough times and I’m immensely proud of our achievements steering through the effects of the pandemic.

“We are very lucky to have a really good team in place with a wealth of experience from quite diverse backgrounds.  But it’s time for new blood and new ideas and this is an opportunity for breeders to come forward and give back to their industry by joining the committee.”

Initiatives launched and overseen by Lacey in the last four years inc;

>   Running regular breeding seminars

>   Magic Millions Yearling Showcase

>   Development of Strategic Plan

>   Platinum Race Day at Ascot in conjunction with RWWA

>   Dedicated Breeders Awards Day with several new categories

>   $10k breeders bonus on Platinum Raceday

>   Significant improvements in governance

Lacey owns and operates the Olive Grove Equine Veterinary Clinic and is a partner in Mogumber Park Stud with her husband Colin Brown.
