Last Love leads Day 3 of Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale

Maiden mare Last Love topped Day 3 of the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast on Tuesday.  Consigned by Peachester Lodge, the four year-old was knocked down for $37,000 to Boomer Bloodstock.

Last Love (Iglesia) mare is a half sister to four winners including Brief Embrace (Irgun).  An outstanding juvenile, she won three stakes races and was second in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes to Bel Esprit.

Over $470,000 changed hands on 150 lots during the general session at an average price of $3,165.

“It was nice to see strong interest from international buyers from the Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong and New Zealand,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said.  “An increased average on last year’s corresponding session is encouraging as was the clearance rate of over 79%.”

The first of three National Yearling Sale sessions starts on Sunday.
