Lebrechaun delights Misty Downs

Lebrechaun is giving his excited owners the ride of a lifetime and Queensland based Misty Downs Stud is also celebrating his last-start stakes win in Canberra.

Lebrechaun (5g Iglesia – Rolling Along by Runyon) has now won 7 races in 19 starts for earnings above $173,000.  The Listed National Sprint winner is trained by Matthew Dale for a syndicate headed by Salim Estephan.  He has been nominated for the City Handicap (1400m) at Albury on Thursday and the G2 Ajax Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday.

Skilled horseman Terry Catip sold Lebrechaun for $18,000 at the 2007 Gold Coast Magic Millions Session 5 yearling sale.  The Misty Downs operator will send a Dane Supreme half-sister to Lebrechaun down to the rescheduled Magic Millions QTIS yearling sale.

Catip is prepping the filly at his Warwick base and she has been catalogued as Lot 402 during Day 2 of the sale on April 18.

Lebrechaun is an older half-brother to G’day Old Mate (Sequalo), an Eagle Farm winner in December, and Hushovd (Sequalo) who was runner-up on debut at Sunshine Coast on March 13.  Their dam Rolling Along died in May 2010.
