Zenyatta’s owner Jerry Moss has decided not to breed from his champion mare this year. The 10-year-old delivered her third foal in as many years on Easter Sunday.
She has a 2yo colt named Cozmic One (Bernardini) and a yearling colt by Tapit. Her latest is a filly by War Front.
Zenyatta resides at Lane’s End Farm in Kentucky after a career that saw her win 19 races in a row. She bowed out after a narrow defeat in the 2010 Breeders Cup Classic.
“From the start, her happiness and well-being has been our top priority,” Moss said. “Following the birth of her perfect new filly, we have decided to give her a year off.
“Zenyatta continues to be in good health and excellent condition. She will have time to rest in one of the most beautiful places in the country.”
