Animal Kingdom’s sire Leroidesanimaux (Brz) will transfer to Lanwades Stud in Newmarket for the 2014 northern breeding season.
Leroidesanimaux (Candy Stripes) has been based at Stonewall Farm in Florida. The 13-year-old stallion was a G1 winner of the Atto Mile and Citation Handicap and was also runner-up to Artie Schiller in the 2005 Breeders’ Cup Mile.
Animal Kingdom stands at Arrowfield Stud and will shuttle to Darley’s Kentucky base in 2014.
“Leroidesanimaux represents the reintroduction of the Blushing Groom sire line to the UK,” Lanwades owner Kirsten Rausing said. “With his pedigree, toughness, durability and marvellous racing form on both turf and dirt, he will be an immensely important addition to the European breeding industry.
“His pedigree makes him a suitable mate for Galileo, Danehill and Mr. Prospector-line mares. He’s the outcross stallion European breeders have been waiting for.”
Leroidesanimaux, which is French for “King of the Animals”, has sired 10 stakes winners led by Animal Kingdom who won the 2011 Kentucky Derby and 2013 Dubai World Cup.
