Turova returned to form with a resounding victory in the Incumbent Hcp at Devonport on Sunday.  The Barry Campbell trained stallion cruised to a three-quarter length victory on the new polytrack over 1150 metres.

Turova (6h King Of Prussia – Highgold by Mukddaam) is raced by owner-breeders Peter Thomas and Terry Clayton and is named after an Olympic high jumper from Prussia.

“He can power home as long as the pace is on up front,” Campbell said.  “If he races too close to the lead then he just can’t finish off.”

Campbell is hoping he can stretch out to longer trips.  “Nash Rawiller rode him down here at last year’s carnival and said he would get a mile.  He won over 1600m in Hobart three starts later and the King Of Prussia horses keep improving with racing.”

Turova’s dam Highgold won twice in Hobart for Thomas and Clayton and she has a 2yo filly by King of Prussia.  

Meanwhile, King Of Prussia gelding Daytona won his sixth race in Penang on the weekend for trainer Tom Gillespie.

Daytona (7g King of Prussia – Amy’s Blushing by Blushing Scribe) was a Yarra Glen winner for Bruce Jenkins before transferring to Malaysia.  His half-brother Nothing Shall Pass (Fraar) also won for the sixth time at Strathalbyn on October 1.

Their dam Amy’s Blushing won at Flemington among 6 victories from 2000m to 2563m.

King Of Prussia (Anabaa) is based at Greta West Stud for a $3,300 (inc gst) service fee.
