Bradbury’s Luck was represented by two new winners at the Gold Coast on Saturday to put the finishing touches on a month to remember for the Glenlogan Park resident.
The latest Bradbury’s Luck winners are both grey fillies and they increased his first crop winner tally to 26.
More Luck (3f Bradbury’s Luck – Tengu by Shinko Forest) was first cab off the rank for Liam Birchley. The Eagle Farm trainer bought her for $16,000 at the 2009 Magic Millions QTIS yearling sale from Glenlogan Park.
Seductive Grey (3f Bradbury’s Luck – Wild Duck by Loup Sauvage) completed the double on the Gold Coast. She was part of the Widjara Thoroughbreds draft at the 2009 Magic Millions Summer yearling sale and was purchased for $41,000 by Grand Parkview manager Mark Timms.
Bradbury’s Luck began his winning run back on Boxing Day when the very promising Mark Kavanagh trained A Beta Imagination powered over the top of highly-rated colt Intencion at Caulfield. That followed a debut win at Bendigo and Kav rates him a Group horse in the making. The gelding is owned by Laurence Eales and sports the same colours carried by Group 1 stars Shocking and Whobegotyou.
Champion trainer Peter Moody kept up the momentum when Blades Of Glory won by panels at Mornington on New Year’s Day. Moody slipped him across to Adelaide a fortnight later and he doubled up at Morphettville in good time
Over in Perth, Luckygray made it three-from-three at Ascot on January 15. He is trained by Gino Poletti and was far from disgraced when lifted to Listed level in the Challenge Stakes last Saturday. He finished within a length of Big Hold Up (Postponed) after jumping from a wide gate over 1400m.
Back in Brisbane on January 22, Skating On Ice defied all challengers for a barrier-to-box win at Eagle Farm. She collected $53,000 in prizemoney and a QTIS bonus for trainer Les Kelly and her Perth based connections.
Brisbane raider Nuptse notched a Sydney win for Bradbury’s Luck when she cruised to an impressive victory at Warwick Farm on Australia Day. Trainer Brian Wakefield took her south and the away result meant her sire achieved the rare feat of having 3YO city winners in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane in the space of four weeks!
Bradbury’s Luck (Redoute’s Choice) was trained by Graeme Rogerson and won the 2004 Listed AJC Canonbury Stakes and 2005 Magic Millions 2yo Classic from just a half dozen starts.
Bradbury’s Luck’s first crop are starting to make a real impact and if they continue to progress he will surely assume a higher-profile at the 2012 majors.
Seven of his third crop yearlings were catalogued for the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions but only one of them qualified for Sessions 1-4.
