Thoroughbred Breeders Australia and Aushorse Marketing CEO Peter McGauran has resigned.
McGauran joined the two breeders organizations in May 2008 after a 25 year career in Federal Parliament. He had a long standing involvement in the thoroughbred industry as a former steward and amateur jockey in Victoria.
TBA President Trevor Lobb thanked McGauran for his loyal and dedicated service over the past three years. “Peter came at a time of renewal and expansion of the industry’s representative bodies and he tackled the task with enthusiasm and skill.”
Aushorse Marketing Chairman Antony Thompson said McGauran also played a pivotal role in establishing the new promotions and marketing arm of the thoroughbred industry. “Peter has proved a respected and effective ambassador for the Australian industry throughout our key markets and the introduction of sustained two year old racing in Singapore is largely due to his organisational skills.”
McGauran will continue in the role for several weeks while a search for his successor is undertaken.
