Parades are well underway at Oaklands Junction ahead of the 2012 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale with the majority of yearlings already on the grounds.
A total of 790 yearlings have been catalogued for the four day sale starting at 11am this coming Monday, February 27.
Swettenham Stud, who sold Black Caviar in their draft four years ago, is up and running, as are Pinker Pinker’s vendor Millford Thoroughbreds, Starspangledbanner’s seller Makybe, Igugu’s vendor Kia-Ora Stud and Kornong Farm with their brother to Sacred Kingdom who they sold at Oaklands to trainer Ricky Yiu.
Melbourne Premier Sale graduate Black Caviar has been a great ambassador for the Victorian breeding industry and Inglis has catalogued 39 yearlings by her Eliza Park Stud based sire Bel Espirt to go under the hammer next week.
After a two year absence, 24 yearlings by Statue of Liberty, the sire of Hay List, are also set for sale in Melbourne.
Cox Plate winner Pinker Pinker, who was purchased by trainer Greg Eurell from Melbourne Premier for $120,000, resumes this Saturday in the Group 1 MRC Futurity Stakes and 8 yearlings by her sire Reset will be offered at Oaklands.
Patinack Farm will be hoping for a timely pedigree update on Saturday, as the first yearling they offer on Monday is Group 1 MRC Blue Diamond Stakes contestant Real Stolle’s half-brother.
Over 50% of the yearlings catalogued to be offered are Super VOBIS and Super VOBIS Gold eligible, plus all lots offered are eligible for nomination into the $5million Inglis Race Series, which includes the $250,000 Inglis Premier restricted to Melbourne Premier Sale graduates.
