Peintre Celebre mare Midnight Ballet starred at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Patinack Sale on Tuesday.
The unreserved auction returned pleasing results with 191 mares changing hands for turnover of $2.77 million at an average of $14,554 at
Coolmore Stud bought Midnight Ballet for $240,000. The 12 year-old mare was sold with a Onemorenomore colt at foot and is in foal to leading young sire Husson. “It’s a rare opportunity to have such a quality mare offered,” Coolmore Stud agent Colm Santry said. “She is a proven Group 1 producer and will visit Fastnet Rock next spring.”
Midnight Ballet is an unraced daughter of 1987 G1 VATC Blue Diamond Stakes winner Midnight Fever (Luskin Star). She is a perfect three-from-three at stud topped by 2010 G1 VRC Australian Guineas winner Rock Classic (Fastnet Rock).
