Segenhoe Stud owner Kevin Maloney notched his second Saturday winner in a row when Sister Madly scored a G3 victory in the MRC Sportingbet Series Stakes at Caulfield.

Maloney had won the AJS Corporation Hcp (1200m) with Irish Dream at Moonee Valley on September 10.  Both mare were purchased at the Magic Millions National Sale in June – Irish Dream (Falbrav) was a value buy at $150,000 whereas Sister Madly cost $1 million.

Sister Madly (4m Redoute’s Choice – Jade Tiara by Bureaucracy) will pay her way if she can go on and win the G1 Myer Classic at Flemington and / or the G1 Robert Sangster Stakes in Adelaide.

“It’s a terrific start to our relationship with Kevin,” trainer John Sadler said.  “He paid a lot of money for Sister Madly and the win means a lot to our stable.”

Sister Madly was offered by Edinburgh Park owner Ian Smith at the Magic Millions.  He also bred her older half-brother Silent Witness (El Moxie) who won 17 races in a row in Hong Kong and Japan between 2002 and 2005.

The regally bred mare was G1 placed in the 2010 Robert Sangster and was a G3 winner of the Southern Cross Stakes at Randwick in February.  She was sold after pulling up lame in the G1 The Galaxy in April.

Smith sold her dam Jade Tiara some years ago and the mare is now under the ownership of Patinack Farm.  Her 4yo Best Choice (Redoute’s Choice) won a Canterbury maiden for Apollo Ng on debut but he hasn’t been seen for 12 months.

Jade Tiara’s last foal to date is 3yo filly Silla Regalis (Encosta De Lago) who cost $700,000 at the 2010 Inglis Easter yearling sale.  She will race for Arrowfield and was runner-up in a Randwick barrier trial in February.
