Animal Kingdom has a black-type book of mares lining up for his initial season at Arrowfield Stud this spring.
A son of Leroidesanimaux, he won the 2011 Kentucky Derby and 2013 Dubai World Cup and will stand for a $38,500 (inc gst) fee. He will then shuttle to Darley’s Jonabell Farm in Kentucky. Among his first southern book are;
MISS FINLAND (Redoute’s Choice): Australia’s champion 2YO and 3YO Filly in 2006 and 2007. Group 1 winner of five events topped by the Golden Slipper Stakes and VRC Oaks. None of her four foals have raced.
ALINGHI (Encosta de Lago): Australia’s Champion 2YO and 3YO Filly in 2004 and 2005. Four-time Group 1 winner of the Blue Diamond Stakes, One Thousand Guineas, Robert Sangster Stakes and Newmarket Hcp.
She also won the G3 Ballston Spa Breeders’ Cup at Saratoga. Alinghi is the dam of one winner from two foals to race.
WEEKEND BEAUTY (Helissio): Dam of 2008 Australian Horse of the Year Weekend Hussler. Her daughter Talaq Dancer is the dam of G3 winner Lucky Hussler.
RIBE (Danehill): Group 2 winner of the Moonee Valley Oaks and the dam of Australian G1 winner Reaan. The 14-year-old mare is the dam of five winners from as many foals to race.
VICTORY PARTY (Yankee Victor): Team Valor mare and a half-sister to G1 winners Beholder and Into Mischief. The latter has developed into a standout second-crop sire.
Arrowfield will host its stallion show from August 22 to 25.
