Cranbourne trainer Chris Hyland is enjoying a well earned vacation in North America, however, it’s business as usual at his stable and the lightly raced Miss Phromily looks a strong chance to make it two wins on end at Mornington this afternoon (R8 at 5.20pm).
Miss Phromily (3f Delzao-Cornbread by Rubiton) made her debut at Mornington back in August and, although beaten into third place, she didn’t seem fazed by the heavy track conditions. That stands her in good stead for today’s race, given that the track has come up a Heavy 9.
Last start at Kyneton, Miss Phromily had to lug 57kg but, with the aid of an outstanding Brad Rawiller ride, held on to break her maiden by a head.
Passed in at the 2008 Inglis Premier Sale at Oaklands Junction, Miss Phromily is a second crop three-year old for Eliza Park sire Delzao (Encosta de Lago) and is the second foal for the multiple winning mare Cornbread, making her a close relation to dual G1 winning sprinter Compliance (Canny Lad).
Miss Phromily appears well placed and looks one of the better bets on a tough card.
