Stakes performed mare Mont Fleuri was the star turn as the 2011 Inglis Weanling and Bloodstock Sale came to a close at Newmarket on Friday.
The winning Cape Cross mare, who was also placed in the G3 Thousand Guineas Prelude at Caulfield, topped proceedings when knocked down to Neil Jenkinson for $180,000.
A feature of this week’s three-day sale was the amount of activity online with 66 horses sold via the Online Bidding service.
“This sale has only been going a few years but has quickly developed into a good marketplace,” Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy said. “Buyers have told us they appreciate seeing weanlings offered at this time of year, giving them a little more time to develop.
Horses passed in this week are still available for sale via the Inglis Make an Offer service. Interested parties can view a photograph of all passed in horses on the Make an Offer website.
The next sale on the Inglis calendar is on August 18 and 19 at Oaklands. Entries close on July 1.
