Former Hollylodge resident Honours List sired another juvenile feature winner when Siena’s Pride scored an emphatic victory in the $100,000 Parry Nissan Great Northern Plate (1200m) at Townsville on Monday.
Honours List (Danehill) was originally based in the Hunter Valley before serving a one-off season at Terry & Chris Nevill’s Hollylodge Stud at Avenel in Victoria last spring. He was exported to Spain earlier this year.
Siena’s Pride (2f Honours List-Old Flames by Forest Glow) took up the running and scooted clear in the straight to win by nearly two lengths from Matsi Concept (Tsuimai).
The filly was a $1,000 buy from last year’s Magic Millions National Yearling Sale when offered by Sarsfield Thoroughbreds and has now registered five wins and a second from six starts.
Her only defeat to date was on debut at Townsville in October last year when she was beaten three lengths by star filly Kiss Me Katy.
Kiss Me Katy (Mull of Kintyre) franked the form with a brilliant victory in the Listed Sir Douglas Wadley Stakes at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
