Mr Big confirmed his status as Singapore’s Champion 2YO when he romped to victory in the $200,000 G3 Magic Millions Juvenile Championship (1200m) at Kranji on Sunday.

Mr Big showed blistering speed at both the start and end of the race to win by a length and a half from stablemate Rush (Charge Forward) and Destiny Action (Dangerous).

“It’s a great honour for me to win the Juvenile Championship,” Freedman said after the impressive win.  “Over the years we’ve seen many top horses win the race and let’s hope this one goes on to similar feats.”

“He won the Aushorse race last month and I must say it was a bit of a rush to get him ready.  Danny (Beasley) was adamant the blinkers would help him and it’s a gamble that has paid off.”

“He’s done a great job to back up after a week and win the Aushorse race and now he’s won the Juvenile Championship first-up.  He’s probably earned another good break.”

Mr Big has turned out an incredible money spinner for connections considering he cost just $21,000 from the Yarraman Park Stud at the 2010 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  Unbeaten in three runs he’s earned over S$320,000 already and he looks likely to build on that after he returns from a spell.

Mr Big is bred on the same Elusive Quality – Danehill cross as G1 Blue Diamond and G1 Golden Slipper winner Sepoy.

His dam Basamaat is an Irish bred daughter of G3 Royal Ascot Queen Mary Stakes winner Shining Hour (Red Ransom).  She has a yearling colt by Shamardal and weanling colt by Henny Hughes.

Third placed Destiny Action had finished third to Sepoy in the LR Maribyrnong Trial Stakes at Flemington in October.  Before relocating to Singapore, he was trained by Patrick Payne and raced under the name Stop Sookin.
