Adena Springs has claimed the North American breeder award for 2011 with $15.51 million in earnings.

It was the ninth win in a row for horses from Frank Stronach’s operation.  They won 490 races.

The Adena total was more than twice that of Ken and Sarah Ramsey who ranked second with $7.22 million.  The Ramseys had the winners of 244 races.

The Top 10 breeders’ list for 2011 was filled out by:  Brereton C. Jones ($6.63m), Liberation Farm ($6.53m), Eugene Melnyk ($5.31M0, Will Farish ($5.29m), Darley, ($4.82m), Ocala Stud ($4.54m), Brandywine Farm ($4.46m) and WinStar Farm ($4.04m).
