Notre Amour – Bred To Win – Thursday, 31 December 2009

Robbie Heathcote can sign off a career-high year with Notre Amour in the Marburg Hotel Hcp (Race 6 at 4.09pm AEST) at Ipswich this afternoon.  The Eagle Farm conditioner currently heads the Brisbane trainers’ premiership with 26 wins ahead of Liam Birchley (19) and Bryan Guy (13).

Notre Amour (5m Show A Heart – Cantantes by Just Awesome) won her maiden at Ipswich the last time Heathcote floated her up the Motorway in May 2007.  The mare has won three races in town since then including a last-start victory at Doomben on December 9.

Her sire Show A Heart is Queensland’s leading locally based sire and her dam Cantantes was an Eagle Farm winner before retiring to stud.

Notre Amour was her first foal and her second – Brilliantes (Falvelon) – is engaged in Race 5 at Ipswich this afternoon.  Her third – Funtantes (Easy Rocking) – was a G2 winner of the Champagne Classic at Doomben in May.

Heathcote’s wife Vicki part-owns Cantantes and her three winners.  The mare has a 2yo Falvelon gelding named Excellantes and she foaled a another Falvelon colt in September.
