Playing God is laying the platform for a storied stud career that commences another chapter at Ascot this Saturday.

The first starter from his third crop – Convalesce – is on debut in the Amelia Park Plate (1100m) off a winning gallop in a Lark Hill trial on Monday morning. Trained by Steve Wolfe, he has opened at $6.50 behind the $2.70 favourite Madam Torio (I’m All The Talk).

Convalesce was a 37,000 buy for Commercial Bloodstock’s Noel Carter who found him on Day 2 of the 2019 Perth Magic Millions. His dam Recoverable (Metal Storm) is a half-sister to Perth stakes winner Eastern Zone (Warring Nations).

Playing God’s first crop includes the Neville Parnham-trained stakes winner Platoon and Wolfe-trained Lordhelpmerun. They were joined by Neat Action (Pinjarra) and What About Moses (Albany) last weekend while Son Of Bacchus can add his name to that list at Ascot this Saturday.

Parnham’s Group 1 Kingston Town Classic winner Kay Cee heads his second crop and her stablemate Pambella also struck for that generation at Pinjarra on Saturday.

The numbers are adding up for Playing God who stands at Mungrup Stud. He’s No.1 active sire for Westspeed Platinum progeny and overall there have been 24 individual winners of 49 races to date.

There are 13 yearlings from Playing God’s fourth crop available through the Mungrup Stud draft at 2020 Perth Magic Millions. Among them is the brother to Neat Action (Lot 260).
