NZ Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale enjoyed a stellar night in Singapore on Sunday with 5 winners on the 12-race card including Super Ninetyseven’s G3 victory in the Committee’s Prize Stakes.
Super Ninetyseven (Show a Heart) settled last in the 11-horse field and then railed up to win by over two lengths for champion jockey Joao Moreira. “He can be a handful but is definitely improving,” trainer Michael Freedman said. “He is mentally more mature and can develop further.”
Racing in the same colours as Freedman’s retired Karaka graduate Super Easy (Darci Brahma), he has now won 6 races in 11 starts for the Joy N Happiness Stable. “Obviously I’d like to set him for the Kranji Mile and the Raffles Cup,” Freedman said. “The Gold Cup is also at the back of my mind as he’s out of a Zabeel mare.”
Super Ninetyseven becomes the 113th stakes winner for Zabeel as a broodmare sire. His dam Yabeel is a half-sister to 1994 Cox Plate winner Solvit (Morcon). He was offered at the 2011 Ready to Run Sale by Lyndhurst Farm when purchased by Ms Foo Oi Ling for $125,000.
