Trainer Murray Baker will take advantage of Orbity’s rich vein of form in the LR Ryder Stakes at Otaki on July 27.
Orbity (2f Magic Albert – Jane Jetson by Jetball) had won at Rotorua and Ruakaka before completing a hat-trick in the Marshall’s Pharmacy 2YO at Te Awamutu on Saturday. “She’s only small and it would be good to get a bit of black print before the others catch her up,” Baker said. “Then she’s worth breeding from later on.”
Orbity (NZ) jumped straight to the front and, after shaking off Aaja Nachle (Fast ‘n’ Famous) across the top, kicked clear off the bend. The fixed-odds favourite had enough in reserve to hold a half-length winning margin at the post.
“It was a good effort with the 59kg as she’s only a midget,” Baker said. “She’s a half-sister to Meet George whose a very good sprinter in Brisbane and she’s only half his size.”
Orbity was a $15,000 buy from Highden Park at the 2012 NZB Festival yearling sale at Karaka.
