Pendragon relocates to Brisbane Meadow

Dato Tan Chin Nam’s decision to scale back his breeding and racing operations continued this week with news 14 year-old stallion Pendragon will stand at Brisbane Meadow this year.

Pendragon (Elnadim) has been based at Think Big Stud in the NSW Southern Highlands since 2007. It’s less than an hour’s drive down the Hume Hwy to Brisbane Meadow where he will stand for a $5,500 (inc gst) fee with owner Fiona Mylan.

His top-class mare Miss Gunpowder can mark the move with a Group 1 victory in the Tatts Tiara (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday. She raced in her owner’s famous black and white checked silks before changing hands for $700,000 at the Magic Millions National Sale last month.

Dato Tan Chin Nam leased Think Big Stud to NZ couple Greg and Jo Griffin last year and it now trades under Lime Country Thoroughbreds. The 91 year-old Malaysian property billionaire and his close friend Bart Cummings raced Melbourne Cup winners Think Big (1974-75), Saintly (1996), Viewed (2008) and Cox Plate Champion So You Think.
