Glenlogan Park stallion Red Element got his stud career off to a perfect start on Tuesday when Element Of Chance won the Pallarenda Stakes (1000m) at Townsville.
Element Of Chance (2c Red Element – Belle Soleil by Redoute’s Choice) made his rivals look second-rate winning untouched by more than two lengths. He jumped well and eased off the leader’s heels in the straight to score with ears pricked from Schnelles Pferd (Court Command) and Model To Exceed (Exceedingly Good).
Trainer Fred Wieland bought the winner for $29,000 out of Glenlogan Park’s draft at the 2013 Magic Millions QTIS yearling sale. He is the first foal Belle Soleil who won the 2007 Wyong 3YO Magic Millions for trainer by Gary Portelli.
Belle Soleil lost a Red Element filly in 2012 and was empty this year after missing to Real Saga.
Red Element (Red Ransom) is a brother to Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy and won the LR Creswick Stakes at Flemington and LR BMW Stakes at Caulfield among 5 victories from just 17 starts.
Coincidentally, Element Of Chance was Red Element’s first foal to arrive at Glenlogan Park in the early hours of August 5, 2011. “If any farm can find a better specimen on Day 1 than this fellow, well we will be stunned,” studmaster Steve Morley predicted just hours after he was foaled. “No question – this colt is class with a capital C.”
