Poet’s Voice sires first winner in Australia

My Country posted the first Australian winner for Darley shuttler Poet’s Voice (GB) at Gosford on Tuesday.

Well educated with three previous trials under her belt, the Peter and Paul Snowden trained filly travelled just off the pace for Winona Costin and kicked clear to win the Berowra Cricket Club Plate (1000m) by more than a length from Zafina (Stratum) and Canny Rocket (Smart Missile).

A $140,000 Magic Millions purchase for Astute Bloodstock, My Country is the third winner for Irish bred Danehill mare Bells Will Ring – the best of them to date has been Sydney winner Perfect Offering (Dubawi).  The mare’s current yearling, another filly by Poet’s Voice, will be offered at the 2016 Magic Millions as Lot 58.

Poet’s Voice has sired 18 northern hemisphere winners this year including the stakes-winners Poeta Diletto (G3 Premio Guido Berardelli), Whitman (LR Ripon 2YO Trophy) and Voice of Love (LR Premio Campobello).  He stood for $11,000 at Darley Aberdeen this year.

Poet’s Voice (pictured) is a Group 1 winning son of Dubawi and has five entries for Magic Millions including a half-brother to $2 million dollar earner Catkins to be offered by Amarina Farm as Lot 570.
