The Waikato turned on some bright, sunny weather for the first day of NZ Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale Breeze Ups on Monday with the track rated
a Slow 8.
Dormello Stud’s Lot 280 provided the fastest time of the day with the bay colt by Postponed from Imperial Patrice running down the 200 metres of the Te Rapa straight in 10.90 seconds.
Three other lots provided the next fastest time of the day of 10.99 seconds. Also from Dormello was a bay colt from the first crop of their sire Duelled, a son of Redoute’s Choice. At Lot 211 he is from Comley’s Pride, a daughter of Group 1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner and Golden Slipper runner-up Comely Girl (Marscay).
Mana Park also had two youngsters record the same time, including Lot 59, a grey colt by another first crop sire in Newmarket Lodge’s Gold Centre. From Circles of Gold, Gold Centre is a full-brother to five-time Group 1 winner Elvstroem and a half to Haradasun (Fusaichi Pegasus).
From the same draft and recording the same time was the black colt at Lot 76 by Domesday from the stakes performed mare Sansadee.
The second day of breeze-ups will be conducted on Tuesday at Te Rapa. The 2009 Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs will be held at Karaka on November 17.
