Emirates Park sire Al Maher was responsible for his second daily double in less than a week at Randwick and Newcastle last Saturday.
A second-season son of Danehill, Al Maher sired All Legal to score a determined win in the AJC Inglis Bonus Handicap (1600m) and he doubled up when Getaway Plan won his maiden as a short-priced favourite at Newcastle.
All Legal landed a motza for his connections at Randwick. In addition to claiming first prize of $42,000, he also banked a $100,000 Inglis incentive as well as a $20,000 BOBS bonus. All told, All Legal won $162,000 for getting home first, taking his total earnings to in excess of $236,000.
All Legal became the third three year-old by Al Maher to win at 1600 metres. Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes winner Majestic Music and recent Cranbourne winner Kornati have also won at a mile.
Al Maher has now sired 12 three year-old winners this season. His first daily double on October 11 came via Kornati (Cranbourne) and Favours Traded (Ipswich).
