Jet Spur can continue his great start at stud when Power of Ed runs in the Tooheys New Hcp (Race 3 at 1.35pm AEST) at Doomben on Monday. Glenlogan Park’s son of Flying Spur has already sired four winners from his first crop including Power of Ed who won at the Gold Coast on December 19.
Power of Ed (2c Jet Spur – Precious Epic by Iglesia) has drawn wide but jockey Ric McMahon will let him come from off the pace with similar tactics that worked so well on debut.
Jet Spur was a G2 winner of the Dodo Sprint at Caulfield and the G3 L’Oreal Paris Plate at Flemington. His Gold Coast winner was a $55,000 buy at the 2009 Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sale from the Epic Farm draft.
His dam Precious Epic only won a Ballina maiden in 16 starts. She is a half-sister to Perth stakes performer Truckin Tobie (Greenlander) and the dam of Brisbane flyer Power of George (Falvelon).
