Primus transfers to Queensland

Queensland based Clear Mountain Fairview will stand Primus at its Greenmount stud in 2012.

Primus is a son of champion sire Flying Spur from the famed Denise’s Joy family.  He had been based at Chatswood Stud in Victoria and changed hands for $8,500 at the Inglis Great Southern Sale last month.

“He’s a fantastic prospect for breeders,” stud manager Mick Frappell said.  “Primus was not tried until he reached three and he later scored a tremendous victory in the Group 3 Tramway Quality.”

Clear Mountain Fairview is already home to Choistar (Choisir), Outback Prince (Desert Prince), Tycoon Ruler (Last Tycoon) and Zaha (Kingmambo).

Primus has two crops racing for 12 winners of 23 races at a 33% strike-rate.  He will stand for a $3,300 (inc gst) fee.
