Progressive Choisir in Perth

Choisir was back in business soon after siring Historic to a Group 1 victory in New Zealand on Saturday.

His WA based gelding Kalahaar is a step closer to a stakes campaign after dismissing a strong field of restricted sprinters in the Facebook Perth Racing Hcp (1200 m) at Ascot.

Kalahaar (4g Choisir – Kalatiara by Metal Storm) is a homebred for Lex and Shirley Piper and Graham Daws and he has won 6 from 9 starts since a debut victory in Albany on Easter Sunday last year.  “He continues to progress and we will know more after another run here in a fortnight,” trainer Steve Wolfe said.  “I’m on the look-out for a nice stakes race during the winter.”

His dam Kalatiara was a G2 winner of the 2000 WA Guineas for the Pipers and she later transferred to North America for a G3 victory at Hollywood Park before being repatriated.

Dawson Stud will offer a Medaglia d’Oro – Kalatiara filly as Lot 91 at next month’s Perth Magic Millions.
