The line-up for the $250,000 QTIS 600 2YO Plate (1200m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday is proof positive the Magic Millions QTIS 600 concept has been an instant success.
The race has attracted 35 entries from around the State and heading the order of entry is quality Sunshine Coast youngster Tough Luck. The Zaha filly has been touring the Queensland countryside collecting several QTIS 600 bonuses on offer.
Tough Luck has built up a 10: 4-3-1 record and over $271,000 in prizemoney. She cost a mere $9,000 last year. Her younger half brother by Outback Prince is not unlike her being a robust and athletic type. He has been catalogued as Lot 224 from Clear Mountain Fairview Stud.
North Queensland youngster Steel Dragon, a son of Lyndhurst Stud sire Hidden Dragon, has earned $163,800. He was transferred this week to Magic Millions Classic winning trainer Gillian Heinrich.
Alan Bailey’s exciting Markane youngster Marking Time is the other six figure earner to date – he’s already banked $148,500 for connections.
That trio alone could have been purchased at the Magic Millions sales last year for $81,000. As it stands they have collectively earned $583,550.
“The QTIS 600 Yearling Sale is the perfect spot for a Queenslander to buy a horse this year,” Magic Millions Managing Director David Chester said. “The average price last year was just $18,424 – this is great value considering the prizemoney and bonuses available.”
