Raheen Stud colt beats Santa

Jeonseong Sidae (Aus) confirmed his rating as one of the most consistent three year-olds in South Korea with another convincing victory at Busan on Sunday.

Jeonseong Sidae (3c Stromberg Carlson – Jessie’s Journey by Crown Jester) defeated USA bred gelding Lion Santa (Lion Heart) in an 1800m handicap.  In 9 starts, he has won 6 races and been runner-up 3 times for earnings the equivalent of AUD 249,600 for owner Jeong Un Jin.

Lion Santa was looking to make it a perfect 10 from 10 at Busan but he came unstuck when second favourite Jeonseong Sidae stole a break at the top of the straight to score by over a length.

Jeonseong Sidae was bred and sold by Raheen Stud for $15,000 at the 2010 Magic Millions HIT Sale.  He is by Raheen’s Redoute’s Choice sire Stromberg Carlson and is the last foal for Jessie’s Journey who died in January 2009.

Raheen retained a link with Jessie’s Journey through her Doomben winning daughter Slide.  The Dodge mare has foaled the Stromberg Carlson winning fillies Shezza Riches and Little Miss Riches.
