Red Arrow to stand at Lincoln Farm

Red Arrow is scheduled to begin his stud career in Australia alongside Krupt and Ready’s Image at the new Lincoln Farm in NSW this year.

Red Arrow is a superbly-bred son of Red Ransom and G1 winning filly Lady Jakeo.  He commenced racing in Australia where he established himself as a top weight-for-age performer before campaigning with notable success in North America.

Originally trained by Anthony Cummings, he won at Wyong on debut and then developed into an open-age sprinter with placings in the 2008 MRC John Monash Stakes (LR) and MRC Bletchingly Stakes (G3).

Red Arrow was subsequently switched to California where he competed with distinction on both turf and dirt.  He was successful in allowance races at Santa Anita on both surfaces before turning in the finest performance of his career to land the G3 Los Angeles Handicap at Hollywood Park.

Red Arrow led from start to finish carving out the 1200m in a slashing 1.08.92s.  The performance prompted winning jockey Joe Talamo to say: “My horse ended up in the lead on his own and was just cruising”.

His return to Australia coincides with the growing popularity of Red Ransom sire sons Down Under.  In addition to Arrowfield Stud’s Champion first-season stallion Charge Forward, he is the sire of Darley Stud’s Domesday who is among the leading first season sires of 2009-10.  Furthermore, All American, Red Element, Duporth and Onemorenomore have all been recruited by commercial studs to begin their respective stud career in 2010.

Red Arrow is bred on the proven Red Ransom-Last Tycoon cross responsible for Group 1 champion Typhoon Tracy.  He was produced by G1 MRC Blue Diamond Stakes and MVRC Australia Stakes winner Lady Jakeo.  His immediate family also boasts Golden Slipper winner Merlene and Magic Millions winner Bold Promise.

His introductory service fee has been set at $6,600 (inc. gst).  For any further information on Red Arrow, please contact Nick Posa on 0417 903 578 or Denis Roberts on 0418 823 763.
