Darley has transferred Refuse To Bend from Whitsbury Manor Stud in Hampshire to Haras du Logis in Normandy for the 2012 breeding season.
Sheikh Mohammed bases the majority of his French stallions at Haras du Logis. “His stock have performed extremely well in France,” Darley director Sam Bullard said. “We think he has the potential to be a future champion sire there.”
Refuse To Bend (Sadler’s Wells) could win the title as early as this year if his daughter Sarafina wins the Arc de Triomphe.
Sarafina (4f Refuse To Bend – Sanariya by Darshaan) is a homebred for the Aga Khan and she is a G1 winner of the 2010 Prix Saint-Alary & Prix de Diane and the 2011 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.
Refuse To Bend was a G1 winner of the 2003 English 2000 Guineas and returned to add the 2004 Queen Anne Stakes and Coral Eclipse. He retired to Kildangan Stud in County Kildare and stayed there until 2010 when he was transferred to Whitsbury.
Refuse To Bend shuttled to Australia for three seasons until 2008. He has sired 40 winners to date from the first two of those crops headed by the stakes winners Benny’s Buttons and Right Of Refusal.
