Leading NZ nursery Rich Hill Stud has announced a generous new incentive for breeders who intend to support its proven Group 1 sire Bahhare in 2009.
Bahhare’s 2009 service fee of $4000 can now be paid in two instalments, 50% ($2000) when the mare conceives at 45 days and the other 50% ($2000) when the mare produces a live colt in 2010.
If the mare produces a filly in 2010 you do not pay the last instalment so it is effectively a 50% discount for a filly. This will greatly improve the economics of breeding for the Select, Festival and 2yo Ready to Run markets.
Last season Bahhare’s yearlings sold up to $60,000 in the Karaka Select Sale. They were part of his latest NZ crop after an absence of four years.
Bahhare was Champion New Zealand Sire of 2YOs in 2003/04 and he has sired G1 winning fillies and colts. His stock have also done very well in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore which are three of oNZ’s major export markets.
