Rocket heads to Rockhampton

Rocket To Glory will be set for another rich QTIS 600 bonus after a brilliant front-running victory in the $100,000 Parry Nissan Final at Townsville last Saturday.

Rocket To Glory (2g Shovhog – English Summer by Dodge) showed a blistering turn of foot to blast his rivals into submission in North Queensland’s feature event for two year-olds at Cluden Park.

Trainer John Manzelmann will keep him in work for the QTIS feature on the Rockhampton Cup programme later this month.  He is raced by Manzelmann’s wife Stacey and a syndicate from Longreach.

Rocket To Glory gave Raheen Stud its second Parry Nissan victory following Roseneath Jester (Crown Jester) who won it in 1997.  The Shovhog gelding was a $20,000 buy from the Raheen draft at the 2010 Magic Millions QTIS 600 yearlings sale.

The Mackay based youngster has heaps of ability but had been a handful for Manzelmann before he was gelded prior to his latest preparation.

Deceased Raheen sire Shovhog got him from English Summer.  The unraced Dodge mare was served by Raheen sire Publishing last year.
