Rommel relocates to Ridgeport Farm

Rommel will relocate for the 2023 breeding season from Mogumber Park in Bullsbrook to Ridgeport Farm in Waroona.

The 11-year-old son of Commands was a Group 2 winner of the 2014 WA Guineas (1600m) and has sired two Stakes winners in his first three crops – Pixie Chix (RL Magic Millions 3YO Trophy) and her younger brother Snowdome (G3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes).

Rommel covered 66 mares last year at a $7,700 (inc GST) service fee after beginning his stud career at $5,500 (inc GST) in 2017.  “He’s had a great start at Mogumber Park and to date has a 65% winners to runners strike-rate as well as 8% Stakes horses to runners,” Ridgeport Holdings owner Santo Guagliardo said.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to stand Rommel as foundation stallion at Ridgeport Farm.  The shareholders in Rommel are grateful for all the care and passion Mogumber Park have shown him over the past six years.”

Rommel’s service fee for 2023 will be announced at a later date.
