Royal Harlequin became the second Craiglea Stud stallion to sire his first winner this month on Tuesday.
His gelding Craiglea Ducati won the Dig It Landscaping Maiden Hcp (800m) by more than five lengths on debut at Mackay. He led from the outset and was still more than five lengths clear at the finish.
Craiglea Ducati (2g Royal Harlequin – Platinum Hussy by Canadian Silver) is trained by Peter Fleming for Craiglea Stud owners Stan and Marilyn Johnston. The same connections also race Craiglea Cruz who scored at Eagle Farm on November 10. She was the first winner for Craiglea Stud resident Warhead (Viscount).
Royal Harlequin is a son of Danehill and his dam Isca (Rory’s Jester) was a G1 winner of the VRC Newmarket Hcp and G1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington. He stands for an advertised service fee of $1,100 (inc gst).
