Sergeant Pepper Show at Kranji

Sergeant Pepper continued the outstanding streak of wins for Magic Millions sold juveniles in Singapore when he led throughout to win on debut at Kranji on Friday night.

Sergeant Pepper (2g Danzero – Done That by Centaine) led home a Magic Millions trifecta from Let’s See Action (Flying Spur) and Diamond Quality (Elusive Quality).  Magic Millions graduates have won 19 of the 21 races for juveniles at Kranji this season.

The winner was purchased from Macquarie Stud by South African agent Andy Williams for $80,000 at the 2010 Magic Millions National yearling sale.

Winning rider Barend Vorster was impressed with the Pat Shaw trained gelding.  “He is still very green and needs to mature further,” he said.  “He lengthened up nicely in the home straight as he has got such lovely long strides.”

“Once we pulled up, he put his head on the chest and wanted to do some more.  He can only improve from that first run.”

Sergeant Pepper is by Danehill’s Golden Slipper winning son Danzero who will stand at Rosemont Stud in Victoria this season.  His latest winner is a half-brother to Sydney stakes winners Rainbow Styling and Zingaling.

Their dam Done That is a Sydney winning mare related to Double Reef, Star of Nouvelle and Giladane.
