Seventh Reason transfers to Tasmania

Seventh Reason, a half-brother to champion mare More Joyous, will stand at Auburnvale Stud in Tasmania this season.

The 8yo stallion is part-owned by John Singleton and covered small books in Queensland and Victoria during the last two seasons.  Singleton sent Newtown Jet (Prized) to stand in Tasmania in 2003.

Seventh Reason (Sadler’s Wells – Sunday Joy by Sunday Silence) was trained by Gai Waterhouse and in 15 starts won at Kembla and Canterbury.

Legendary stallion Sadler’s Wells also sired Savoire Vivre who has won the last two Tasmanian sires’ premierships.  The former Armidale Stud resident died in October 2012.

Seventh Reason is the third new stallion added to the Tasmanian ranks this season.  Needs Further (Encosta de Lago) has been signed by Armidale and Cardinal Virtue (Elusive Quality) will join five-time Tasmanian champion West Quest at Grenville Stud.

Auburnvale Stud is operated by John Sotheran at Exeter between Launceston and the north coast.  He will stand for a $4,400 (inc gst) fee.
