Shadai Farm farewells Fuji Kiseki

Former Arrowfield shuttler Fuji Kiseki has died in Japan aged 23.

The Shadai Farm-bred stallion shuttled to Arrowfield for five years until 2002 and the best of his Hunter Valley bred gallopers was Group 1 mare Sun Classique.  She was exported to South Africa to win the Cape Fillies Guineas and Woolavington Stakes before adding another Group 1 in the Sheema Classic in Dubai.

Hailing from the first crop of Sunday Silence, Fuji Kiseki had won G1 Asahi Hai Sansai Stakes at two and G2 Yayoi Sho at three before retiring to Shadai.  He supplied numerous top-class performers in Japan, including Danon Chantllly, Fine Grain, Isla Bonita, Kane Hekili and Kinshasa No Kiseki.

Fuji Kiseki was pensioned in 2010 and is making his mark as a broodmare sire, with his daughters having produced Australian Group 1 winners Kermadec, Your Song and Yosei.
