Shamardal pay day for Patinack

Patinack Farm owner Nathan Tinkler got in on the ground floor with Shamardal and that relationship reaped more rewards with Shamardashing at Doomben on Saturday.

Shamardashing (5g Shamardal – Beaux Art by Nomrood) got up in the last bound in a blanket finish to the OJ Kitchens & Acro Refrigeration Hcp (2020m).

“It was an outstanding win and it takes a good horse to do what he did,” stable jockey Tim Bell said.  “I didn’t think he could win but he kept grinding away.  He was the best stayer in the race but didn’t appreciate the wet track.”

Patinack has raced the Shamardal stakes winners Happy Hippy, Marquardt and Run For Wilson and Tinkler has also installed Shamardal’s French classic winner Loup de Vega at his Hunter Valley stud.

Shamardashing’s dam Beaux Art was the best three year-old of her year in Perth winning the WA Derby and WA Oaks.  She transferred to the eastern states and won an AJC St Leger, MVRC Feehan Stakes and was also placed in a Caulfield Cup, Turnbull Stakes and Sydney Cup.

Beaux Art has also foaled LR WA St Leger winner Imaginaire (Fusaichi Pegasus) and G3 Scahill Stakes winner Proart (Rock of Gibraltar).  She is also the second dam of LR Placid Ark Stakes winner Liquidation (Giant’s Causeway).

Shamardashing was a $220,000 buy out of the 2008 Inglis Easter yearling sale when offered by Monarch Stud.  He brought up a winning hat-trick at Doomben and he also earned black-type when placed in the LR Carbine Club Stakes at Randwick in April 2010.
