The Shoot Out connection produced another promising NZ bred winner when High On Believing (NZ) won the Channel Seven Maiden Hcp (1000m) at Eagle Farm on Wednesday.
Trainer John Wallace predicted a bright future for the gelding after he stormed home to easily beat Cervance (Bagger Vance) and Keep It Moist (Ferocity).
High On Believing (3g Pins – Ugachaka by Danasinga) carries the same silks as Shoot Out who won last year’s G1 Australian Derby for Wallace and owners Graham and Linda Huddy.
Shoot Out (High Chaparral) and High On Believing both carry the (NZ) suffix and both are graduates of the Gold Coast Magic Millions.
Wallace paid $220,000 for High On Believing from Widden Stud at the 2010 Magic Millions. “He’s a very good horse and hasn’t come on in his coat yet,” Wallace said. “There’s a lot of improvement to come.”
He is by champion Waikato Stud sire Pins and his dam Ugachaka was a G2 winner of the VRC Edward Manifold Stakes and STC Queen Of The Turf.
