Show A Heart wins TBQA Stallion Award

Glenlogan Park sire Show A Heart has won the Thoroughbred Breeders Queensland Association (TBQA) Champion Stallion award for the third season in a row.

Show A Heart’s progeny totalled $4.31 million in 2010-11.  He sired 106 winners headed by the stakes winners Fifteen Carat, Rightfully Yours, Dual Chamber, Handsome Nic, Heart of Dreams, Toorak Toff and Woorim.

His chief earner was Heart Of Dreams with $556,000

Show A Heart was Australia’s Champion first season sire in 2005-06, Champion Second Season Sire in 2006-07 and Champion New Zealand 2yo Sire 2006-07

CHAMPION 2YO SIRE – JET SPUR

Glenlogan Park stallion Jet Spur stamped his authority on the 2010-11 2YO sires’ premiership with 15 winners from 25 starters.  Among them was the very promising stakes winning filly Belle d’Amour.  Kahui banked the most prizemoney with $176,500.

Jet Spur finished 8th on the Australian 2YO sires’ premiership in front of Lonhro, Testa Rossa, Stratum and Flying Spur.

CHAMPION FIRST-SEASON SIRE – RED DAZZLER

Eureka Stud resident Red Dazzler was named Champion first-season sire.  He had 34 starters for 9 winners and 8 placegetters for prizemoney of $407,700.  That was enough for him to finish fourth on the Australian freshman table.

Red Dazzler (Red Ransom) was Group 1 winner of the Toorak Handicap at Caulfield.  His leading earner was Dazzling Kind on $97,000.

BROODMARE OF THE YEAR – LIVE IT UP

Live It Up won three races and was Group 1 placed in the AJC Flight Stakes at Randwick.  She is the dam of four winners including Disco Girl and Pit Lane but her best performer has undoubtedly been Response (Charge Forward).

Response was a G1 winner of the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield and the Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville in 2010-11.  She also won the G3 Matron Stakes at Flemington and amassed $777,175 in prizemoney.
