Six figures for Al Samer at Magic Millions HIT Sale

Emirates Park sire Al Samer consolidated his reputation as rising star among Victoria’s stallion ranks at the Magic Millions National HIT Sale this week.  The son of Redoute’s Choice was represented by a colt that sold for $100,000 to Hong Kong based Bahen Bloodstock.

The six-figure sale represents a lucrative mark-up on a sire that stands for $7,700.

Al Samer (Redoute’s Choice) has sired 10 winners from his first crop including the talented stakes winner Mr Chard.  The Dean Lawson trained three year-old won the Listed MRC Gothic Stakes on Caulfield Cup day and he will back up for more black-type in the G3 VRC Carbine Club Stakes at Flemington on Saturday.

Al Samer’s top seller at the Magic Millions HIT Sale is the first foal of Danewin mare Shaan who was trained by Gai Waterhouse for Emirates Park principal Nasser Lootah.  She was a Canterbury winner and was also stakes placed in the 2007 James H B Carr Plate at Randwick.

Shaan has a yearling colt by Emirates Victoria sire Old Deuteronomy (Storm Cat) and she foaled a colt by Emirates NSW resident Mutawaajid (Redoute’s Choice) on September 22.

An Al Samer colt from the Strategic mare Zeba was also in demand at the Gold Coast on Wednesday.  He was offered by NSW vendor Kingsportz P/L and was bought by Magic Millions as agent for $47,000.  Zeba foaled a filly by Al Samer on September 1.
