Six pack for God’s Own

Eliza Park sire God’s Own has jumped the gun in December with six individual winners in six days.

God’s Own (Redoute’s Choice) stands at Eliza Park in association with Yallambee Stud and his first-crop gelding Sons Of God will be set for the rich Magic Millions raceday after an impressive victory in Brisbane on Wednesday.

Sons Of God (4g God’s Own – Lucky Punch by Celtic Swing) is trained by Rob Heathcote and was racing first-up since April in the Racing Retro Hcp at Eagle Farm..  He was initially based in Victoria and had won an Echuca maiden in March.

Managing part-owner Wayne Sayers sent Sons Of God north after buying him for $80,000 from Kambula Stud at the 2009 Adelaide Magic Millions.  “He’s eligible for the Magic Millions Country Cup,” Sayers said.  “But we’re also looking at Magic Millions Cup if he progresses further.”

God’s Own kicked off December with Cranbourne winner Heavenly Dawn on Saturday.  The Greg Eurell trained filly broke through at her home track by three lengths.

Godliness was next to salute at Kyneton on Tuesday.  Racing for just the second time, she won for owners Barrie and Midge Griffiths and appears to have a bright future.

God’s Own sired an opening double at Sale on Wednesday starting with the Robbie Griffiths-trained mare Maker’s Marque.  She was racing first-up and the victory ended a frustrating run of outs for her connections.

Colin and Cindy Alderson completed the Gippsland double with Bartholomew.  He is a half-brother to 2010 Toorak Hcp runner-up We’re Gonna Rock (Fastnet Rock).

Sons Of God made it a winning hat-trick on Wednesday and God’s Secret filled out the six-pack for his sire at Warrnambool on Thursday.  He was racing first-up for trainer Quinton Scott after a Sale victory in August.

God’s Own was a G1 winner of the Caulfield Guineas and he is building momentum at stud with 40 individual winners in his first two crops.
